Mountains. Music. Momentum.
POWFest is BACK! After a brilliant showing in 2025, Protect Our Winter Australia and Bright Brewery have joined forces yet again to bring a vibrant day of panels, music, market stalls, and important conversation around our climate.
If you are passionate about protecting our alpine regions or simply a keen outdoorsman, come along to a festival with a purpose and join the fight against climate change.
Why come along to POWFest?
Australia’s alpine regions are changing right before our eyes, placing immense pressure on vulnerable ecosystems with shortening snow seasons, warming temps, and increased bushfire risk. The effects of climate change are felt deeply within alpine communities, both human and non-human.
Awareness alone simply isn’t enough, which is where POWfest comes in — gathering community members, scientists, local businesses and athletes to turn concern into action and drive change.

Looking back at POWFest 2025
On a lovely sunny Sunday, we were joined by Helen Haines MP, local community members, and other environmental nonprofits to discuss and raise awareness about the growing impact of climate change on our alpine communities.
Market stalls featuring eco-friendly products and sustainability showcases were held with fantastic support from local representatives of the Mountain Safety Collective, Friends of the Earth and Landcare.
What to expect in 2026
Panel Discussion: In the aftermath of the 2026 Olympics and Paralympics, hear from athletes, scientists, and industry professionals about tackling the big questions around climate change, fossil fuels, and the future of winter sports.
Live Music: Celebrate the beginning of the 2026 snow season with a stellar lineup of artists. Featuring Hypnotic State, changoTRee, and Samara Bright.

Workshops: Join us for a range of workshops, including art, climate convos, and snow chain demos.
Raffle: Over $900 RRP worth of gear is up for grabs from Nobody’s Princess, XTM, POW, and Mountain Safety Collective.
Stay cool with free ice cream from Ben & Jerry’s!

The Time is Now
Australia’s snow is disappearing — snowpack is at its lowest point in 2,000 years and ski seasons are already weeks shorter than they used to be. The changes in our mountains affect more than skiers and snowboarders; the Alps feed nearly a third of the Murray-Darling Basin’s water and support communities and ecosystems found nowhere else on earth. POW Australia commissioned the Our Changing Snowscape report to explore the impacts — Read report here.
The climate impacts in our alpine regions are serious, but it’s not too late to act on emissions, build a future free of fossil fuels, and protect the places we love.
