POW equips local members with the resources, training, and visibility necessary to act as trusted voices on the impacts of climate change in alpine regions. Together, these alliances spearhead local initiatives, host events, advocate for grassroots change, and show policymakers that alpine communities stand united to Protect Our Winters.

The Local Alliances represent the major regions and people that live, work, and explore in Australia’s alpine environments. POW Local Alliances are active in:
- NE VIC (Bright, Mt Beauty, etc.)
- NSW (Jindabyne)
- Urban (Melbourne)
