Alex started her snow journey as a snowboard instructor in 2015, moved into resort media and marketing and then became a backcountry snowboard guide. It was here she saw the effects of climate change most keenly, reducing the snowpack, bringing shorter seasons and threatening native alpine species.

Alex explores Australia’s Snowy Mountains and shares her experiences via photos, videos, articles and guiding in the backcountry. She is an Arc’teryx Ambassador, Mountain Safety Collective Ambassador and Observer, plus frequent public speaker and advocate for protecting our snowy environments.

Alex believes in defence through joy – creating experiences for people to enjoy and embrace the outdoors in the hope that they will fall in love with it and then defend it.
