Andrew Watkins

Climate Science

Dr. Andrew Watkins’ passion is matching world class science with clear communication to build our climate resilience. Andrew’s PhD studied Antarctic sea ice and its impact on global weather and climate, before joining the Bureau of Meteorology where he was the Head of Long-range Forecasts for over a decade. Recently he led the delivery of climate change science in Australia's first National Climate Risk Assessment.

He is currently a research affiliate at Monash University's School of Earth, Atmosphere and Environment. Andrew has been a keen skier for over 45 years, and simply finds our high country beautiful.
